Iranian museums to display new objects for Persian New Year

The two-week Nowruz (Persian New Year) holiday, which will begin on March 21, 2022 is to be a new chance for history lovers as Iranian museums will be showcasing collections of their rarely-seen objects.

The items to be showcased will be rarely-seen objects as well as old manuscripts including copies of Shahnameh (Book of Kings) - the world’s longest epic poem by renowned Persian poet Ferdowsi - during Nowruz vocations.

As one of the world’s oldest major civilizations, Iran is home to settlements that date back to 4000 BC.

Already hosting 26 UNESCO World Heritage sites, Iran, formerly known as Persia, also embraces some of the world’s oldest cultural monuments including bazaars, museums, mosques, bridges, bathhouses, madrasas, gardens, rich natural and rural landscapes.

During Nowruz holidays, most businesses, workplaces and schools are closed in Iran. People find this chance to make hundreds of thousands of domestic trips.

Visiting museums is also part of the hobbies by Iranians as well as foreign visitors to the country.
